Nepal's Former Crown Prince Paras Shah arrested from Pokhara for pointing gun at Sujata's daughter and son-in-law

Former Crown Prince Paras Shah, who has hogged newspaper headlines for opening fire at Rubel Chaudhary, the son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala, at Tiger Tops Resort in Chitwan Saturday night, has been arrested from Fulbari Resort Hotel in Pokhara of Kaski district Tuesday.

A police team led by Senior Superintendent Keshab Adhikari took him under control from the five-start resort, reports said.

District Police Office, Kaski, is preparing to send him to Chitwan after initial questioning for "murder attempt".

Police arrested the former Crown Prince based on a complaint filed at the District Police Office, Chitwan against him by Chaudhary. An arrest warrant was issued by the police office after the complaints was lodged.

Shah had engaged in a heated altercation with Chaudhary at the bar of the resort situated inside Chitwan National Park that resulted in latter firing three rounds of bullet in the air. Both Rubel and Paras have already made it clear that the firing wasn't aimed at any individual.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal had directed Home Minister Bhim Rawal to arrest Paras Shah and start investigation into the incident.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had on Monday formed a high-level probe committee headed by a DIG to investigate the incident.

The Nepali Congress party and leaders of other political parties demanded action against Shah.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has initiated court of inquiry into suspected security lapses in the Tiger Tops incident. Captain Saroj Thapa who is in-charge of the security of Paras Shah is facing inquiry for not preventing the shooting incident, sources said. nepalnews.com
