BIRATNAGAR, SEP 25 -
Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba Tuesday accused the government of practicing dictatorship in the country by ignoring consensus among parties.
“Government and the coalition parties have been threatening to launch protest,” Deuba said while speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport. “Threatening of protest while at the helm of the government is a practice of dictatorship ,” he added.
Saying that nowhere in the world the government and the coalition parties stage protest, Deuba added, “The government and its coalition partners are doing which has been never practiced before.”
Deuba claimed that the UCPN (Maoist)-led government cannot extricate the country out of current crisis. “The country is in crisis. But the government is forming a front with the coalition partners to confront the oppositions,” he said.
Deuba was of the view that the current government should step down at the earliest. But as the government will not resign, he maintained that the opposition parties stage a protest to oust the government. He expressed his optimism that the protest of the opposition parties would topple the government and a consensusgovernment would be formed. He also claimed that there would not be any disputes in his party to claim the PM berth.
