A group of NRNs belonging to "indigenous nationalities" stormed into the jam-packed Nepal Festival organised at the Darling Harboour area on Sunday evening and started chanting slogans against Bhim Rawal for his alleged conspiracy against ethnicity-based federalism in Nepal. The crowd went raucous as some intervened to stop them from demonstrating at the festival. After a quarter an hour's hullabaloo, the protesters were escorted out of the program venue by local police. One of the participating protesters, said the protest was targeted against Rawal because he allegedly masterminded the "indivisible Far-West movement" in the run up to the CA dissolution in May. "We don't want to see any Nepali leader who is against ethnic federalism," said Sashi Lama, a demonstrator. Some other Nepalis, who found embarrassed by act of some of their fellow NRNs simply said the event showed how Nepalis could demonstrate their way of doing politics even in the foreign land. Rawal, who seemed to have taken the incident lightly, simply suggested the fellow Nepalis, who demonstrated at the event, not to engage in any irresponsible activities, or else they could even end up loosing residency rights in Australia.
